//eric.
my prayer for today.

Dear Jesus,

I want to fall in love with you again and not in the way where I fall in love then the next day I’m back to my old self and my old ways.  I want to fall in love to the point where I know your love is all I need and there is absolutely nothing that could replace it or have greater value to me.

I want to be captivated.  Captivated by your grace and mercy and know that despite all that I am not - You are all that you are and all that I need.

And Jesus…

I want others to fall in love with you too.  So help me to show them your love, in any way I can.

Amen.

Patriots!!

Win Or LOSE, I’m a Patriots fan. Tom
and the Pats had a great season just fell short for today’s game. That’s okay, I know they’ll be back.

At least they made it. And it feels better to have them make it to the Super Bowl than to be on Giants bandwagon or hate on the Patriots to feel like a winner.

The only sad part is the NFL season is over, now what am I gonna do? lol.

dear everyone who hates the patriots,

i hope their half-ass win today tasted exceptionally bitter while you were eating the trash talk you’ve been talking for the past week.

wins only feel better when sore losers looks stupid.

sincerely,

this patriots fan :)

new rule.

I don’t/won’t think of you as adult unless you pay for at least one of following:

1. rent/mortgage
2. car/car insurance

yourself, with your own money that you make at your job.

dear f(r)iend.

i knew it.

it’s not a surprise,

but it’s definitely entertaining for me right now

to finally learn the truth

even though tomorrow i probably won’t care

and will probably even forget shortly after that.

this is not vengeance, just great irony.

forgive me if i forget to hold my laugh the next time

i see you.

:)

fool me once, shame on me.

fool me twice… bitch… you’re dead.

volatile people.

i made a vow to myself that i’d cut out people who are volatile and damaging.  the year is about to end, and i got a short list of folks that won’t be but a thought of the past once it hits 2012.  not that they need me in their lives, but God know i don’t need them.

college and the real world.

i think a lot of people have very misconstrued ideas about what college is like, and even more so what the real world is like.  so if you’re one of those college students who are saying “i just want to have fun” or “this is supposed to be the best time of our lives”, you should have never went to college.

also,

a college degree isn’t enough to get you anywhere in this life anymore.  you can’t simply bank on your degree to get you a job, and not even a good one at that.  the real world doesn’t care what research papers you did and how many references you can fit on a reference page.  they want to know that you are competent and in the real world a lot of people know a college degree isn’t enough to determine competency, because let’s be real we know at least one person with a bachelor’s degree that lacks some competence.

also,

don’t get a master’s degree if you don’t have experience.  a master’s degree isn’t some next level diploma after undergrad.  you get a master’s degree to supplement the work experience you already have.  a master’s degree without experience is just a piece of paper, and i think we’ve established those degrees don’t mean anything unless you can back it up with something else.

so the caveat of going to college is it’s hard work and it needs to be because the real world is even harder.  just saying.

grateful.

no matter how hectic life gets, no matter how crazy it can get - dealing with life’s many stresses and disappointments, God is faithful.  i may not have everything, i want but i certainly have everything i need.  and what makes it even better is my life is full of love - love from a supportive family and love from kind friends and church family; and at the end of the day that’s the kind of abundance that really matters.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING :)

hide.

I’m sort of glad that I’m physically exhausted because it helps hide that I feel like I’m falling apart inside.
